Our Story

Bread & Roses was founded in 1980 by a dedicated group of individuals who recognized the urgent need for a community food effort in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Inspired by the courageous women of the 1912 Lawrence Mill Strike, the organization has grown into a robust network that assists thousands in need, embodying solidarity with those who struggle for food and dignity.

Impact

In the past year, Bread & Roses has made a significant impact by providing 1,000 tons of rescued food, 41,409 community meals, and 1,634,853 emergency pantry meals, addressing food insecurity in the community.
