In the summer of 1999, tragedy struck when Macon singer/songwriter Brax Bragg and his brother Tate, a talented classical guitarist, lost their lives in a car accident. In their memory, a friend organized a jam session that celebrated their musical legacy. This heartfelt tribute evolved into the Bragg Jam Festival, which has grown into Macon’s premier music event, uniting the community through the healing power of music.
Bragg Jam has contributed nearly a million dollars in artist fees and tens of thousands in charitable support for community projects, including the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail and Amerson River Park.
