Our Story

Boys Republic was founded in 1907 as California Junior Republic, created by Judge Curtis Wilbur and community members to provide a supportive environment for troubled teenagers. Over the years, it has evolved to meet the changing needs of its students while upholding core values of responsibility, self-governance, and accountability.

Impact

Providing a 24-hour residential therapeutic milieu, Boys Republic addresses emotional, behavioral, psychological, and educational challenges faced by adolescents, fostering pro-social skills and adaptive coping strategies.
