Our Story

Since its establishment in 1963 by visionary founders, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa has evolved to meet the changing needs of the Des Moines Metro community. The organization believes that every child, regardless of income level or zip code, deserves access to high-quality after-school and summer programming in a safe and supportive environment. With the opening of its eighth Club site in 2021, BGCCI has grown into one of the largest youth development organizations in the area, offering a diverse range of educationally enriching programs.

Impact

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa are dedicated to helping youth succeed. Currently, 95% of Club members are on track to graduate, 79% plan to attend college, and 92% engage in regular physical activity, showcasing the positive impact of our programs.
