Our Story
The Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson City has a rich history that began in 1996 when a former gas station on Elm Street transformed into a nurturing environment for local youth. After the original facility was demolished in 2014 due to a highway project, the community rallied together, raising over $3 million to build a new, state-of-the-art facility. This new home, the Boys & Girls Club Railton Center, opened in May 2017 and is proudly located on the campus of Lincoln University, making it the first Club headquartered on a Historically Black College & University in the nation.
Impact on the Community
For over 26 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson City has been dedicated to the success of youth in the community. The Club serves nearly 1,000 children each year, providing them with after-school snacks, homework assistance, and a variety of engaging activities, including STEM, art, and physical fitness. Importantly, every child receives a hot, nutritious dinner, ensuring that no child goes to bed hungry.
Why Donate?
Your generous contributions are vital for continuing the mission of the Boys & Girls Club. Donations help provide essential services such as homework help, nutritious meals, and a safe environment for children in need. With only $25 per semester for families, financial barriers should never prevent a child from accessing these critical resources.
