Our Story

In 1993, Tom and Sue Fazio identified a critical need in their community—a safe place for children to go after school. With unwavering determination and support from their community, they established the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County in a modest 2,000-square-foot center in Green Meadows. What began as a small initiative serving 75 kids daily has blossomed into a vital resource for around 1,200 youth each year. Now housed in a spacious 61,500-square-foot facility with 19 classrooms and 7 recreational spaces, the Club remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of responsible citizens.

Impact

In 2023, the Boys & Girls Club served 1,260 youth and provided 23,869 healthy meals. The Club boasts a remarkable 100% graduation rate for seniors over the last 16 years, demonstrating its commitment to academic success.
