Our Story

Founded in 1965 by John and Ruth Mallery, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County (BGCSCC) emerged as a response to rising juvenile delinquency. Initially serving boys aged 8-15, the organization has evolved to welcome youth from ages 6 to 18, providing a safe haven filled with enriching programs and caring adult mentors. With three Clubhouses across Santa Cruz County, BGCSCC is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for all local youth.

Impact

In 2023, BGCSCC supported over 1,600 youth, offering stability through programs focused on academics, recreation, arts, and character development.
