Our Story
The Boys and Girls Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore (BGCML) was founded in 2014 by passionate community members who recognized the need for high-quality out-of-school programming in Muskegon County. With a dedicated campaign, they raised the necessary funds to open the first Club site in January 2015. By April of that year, BGCML welcomed its first 30 members, and by the end of 2015, membership soared to over 300 youth. Today, BGCML proudly serves over 1400 youth, inspiring them to reach their full potential.
Impact
BGCML serves 460 kids daily during the summer and an average of 132 during the school year, providing essential educational and recreational services. The growth from 30 members in 2015 to over 1400 youth in 2024 showcases the significant impact and engagement within the community.
