Founded in January 2008 by a collective of Houston artists, BOX13 ArtSpace emerged from a desire to introduce innovative artwork to the community. Located in a historic two-story brick building in Houston’s East End, a former sewing machine factory, BOX13 provides affordable studios and gallery space for contemporary artists. Since its inception, the organization has mounted new exhibitions every two months, selected through an open call for proposals reviewed by resident artists.
