Fifteen years ago, a coalition of community leaders, including Speaker of the General Assembly Craig J. Coughlin, the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Middlesex Water Company, and Hackensack Meridian Health, came together with a powerful mission: to support those in need within our communities. This collaboration led to the creation of Bowl for Hunger, an initiative dedicated to aiding food pantries serving Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy, and Woodbridge.

These food pantries play a crucial role in providing essential support to individuals and families facing food insecurity, offering not just groceries but access to nutritious foods that might otherwise be out of reach. Since its inception, Bowl for Hunger has raised over $220,000 for 30 food pantries across the 19th legislative district, becoming a beacon of hope for many.
