Denver Food Rescue

Our Story

Denver Food Rescue is dedicated to increasing health equity in Denver neighborhoods by rescuing high-quality, fresh produce and perishable foods that would otherwise be wasted. Through the efforts of dedicated volunteers, this food is delivered to local communities for direct distribution at No Cost Grocery Programs (NCGPs). These programs are co-created with existing community organizations, effectively reducing transportation barriers and empowering neighborhoods to establish culturally appropriate food initiatives.

Denver Food Rescue operates four key programs that tackle barriers to health equity in the food system, including food recovery, no-cost grocery programs, healthy choice food boxes, and nutrition education for students.
