Our Story
Founded in 2012 by violinists Marielisa and Mariesther Alvarez, Boston String Academy draws inspiration from the Venezuelan El Sistema model, which champions musical excellence as a means for social change. The Academy provides rigorous string instrument instruction to children in under-served communities, fostering sensitive, responsible, and creative individuals through music education.
