Our Story
Founded in 1899, the Boston Rescue Mission began as a humble effort by five individuals dedicated to serving the homeless in Boston. Originally named Merrimac Mission, it has evolved to meet the growing needs of the community, relocating and expanding its services to include emergency shelter, meal programs, and international mission work.
Our Impact
Today, the Boston Rescue Mission provides emergency overnight shelter, hot meals, toiletries, and essential facilities to those in need in the Greater Boston area. The organization also offers residential recovery programs for men and women transitioning from homelessness to independent living, including support for veterans who have faced long-term homelessness.
