Boro Park Shomrim was founded in 1989 by Joseph Goldstein, Abe Caztow, and Hershy Rubinstein. Originally a volunteer anti-crime patrol, it has evolved into a multi-faceted organization assisting the community in both crime and non-crime related matters. With over 150 trained volunteers, Shomrim operates a 24/7 emergency hotline, responding to thousands of calls each year.
Shomrim has successfully assisted in numerous community safety initiatives, including search and rescue operations, crime prevention, and crisis management, significantly enhancing the safety and security of the Boro Park community.
