Once upon a time, an idea blossomed in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Sandy Livermore envisioned a magical place where children could step into their favorite stories. This dream took root and grew into Bookworm Gardens, a vibrant botanical garden that celebrates children's literature. Open from May through October, the Gardens feature over 80 unique gardens, each inspired by beloved children's books.
A Place for Exploration and Joy
Since its opening in 2010, Bookworm Gardens has become a cherished destination for families and individuals of all ages. With nearly 72,000 visitors in 2023, including guests from 49 states and several countries, the Gardens have proven to be a sanctuary of joy and learning. The community has rallied around this grassroots nonprofit, contributing time, talents, and resources to cultivate a space where outdoor learning and nature exploration thrive.
