Our Story

Bomazeen Land Trust was founded by Wabanaki community members connected to the Kennebec River and western Maine. Named after the Norridgewock Chief Bomazeen, who was tragically murdered in 1724, the organization is dedicated to renewing the Abenaki/Wabanaki people's land caretaking roles.

Our Impact

The Bomazeen Land Trust aims to protect and heal ancestral Wabanaki spaces through land return and community reconnection, empowering Wabanaki and BIPOC solidarity.
