Our Story

In 1930, Bob Baker discovered his passion for puppetry in Los Angeles, leading him to create his own 'Petit Theatre' in his backyard. By the age of eight, he was performing for Hollywood director Mervyn Leroy and honing his craft at George Pal Animation Studios. In 1963, Bob and Alton Wood transformed a scenic shop into the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, which has since delighted over one million children with original puppet shows. Following Bob's passing in 2014, the dedicated staff has committed to preserving his legacy and sharing the joy of puppetry with future generations.

Impact

Bob Baker Marionette Theater has enriched the lives of over one million children, ensuring the art of puppetry thrives in Los Angeles.
