Founded in 2017 by Jaime Cleveland, John Curtin, and Jim Hoy, the Blue Water Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to students from blue-collar backgrounds pursuing education at state maritime academies.

By supporting students in five state maritime academies, the fund helps them complete their education, leading to employment rates exceeding 90% for licensed graduates.
