Our Story

Founded in 2020, the Blue Water Film Festival celebrates UN – World Oceans Day every June 8th, promoting San Diego, California as a hub for marine science and environmental storytelling. Founded by Greg Reitman, BWFF bridges environmental activism and storytelling through year-round screenings, panels, and events, cultivating a family-based, environmental, and military community.

Our Impact

BWFF showcases independent films—narrative, documentary, and animated—focusing on environmental storytelling. The festival is dedicated to presenting fresh voices and diverse global perspectives, enlightening audiences and providing invaluable exposure for filmmakers.
