Founded in 1988 by visionary members of the Leadership Shelby County Class, the Blue River Community Foundation emerged from a desire to enhance community well-being. Inspired by the community foundation model, these founders recognized the potential to create lasting change in Shelby County. Over the years, the foundation has grown significantly, with current assets exceeding $57 million and a remarkable $34 million awarded in grants and scholarships.
