Our Story
Bloomington Meals on Wheels began in 1973, initiated by a group of dedicated women from the Local Council of Women. Recognizing the need for nutritious, low-cost meals for the homebound, they delivered the first meals on February 18, 1974, to four clients with the help of three volunteers. Over the years, the organization has grown significantly, now operating seven routes and serving 84 clients with over 200 volunteers delivering more than 1,000 meals each month.
