Our Story
Established in 1949, the Blind Community Center of San Diego, located in Balboa Park, is dedicated to enriching the lives of blind and visually impaired adults and children. The vision for the Center began in 1947 under the leadership of C. Anthony Moran, who, after regaining his sight, sought to create a supportive community for those facing visual challenges. Over the years, the Center has expanded to meet the growing needs of the community, culminating in the opening of a new facility in 2000 that offers a range of programs and services.
