About The Blackhouse Foundation
Founded in 2006 by Brickson Diamond, Carol Ann Shine, and Ryan Tarpley, The Blackhouse Foundation addresses the underrepresentation of Black individuals in the film industry. This organization creates a vibrant space for artists and executives of color to connect, learn, and grow within the industry.
Impact of The Blackhouse
Since its inception, The Blackhouse has forged over 15,000 relationships for Black filmmakers and producers, significantly increasing the visibility of Black films at major festivals. In 2019, over 40 Black films were featured at Sundance, a remarkable rise from just seven in 2007.
