Our Story
Founded by four visionary women during the transformative 1960s and 70s, the Black Women in Sport Foundation (BWSF) emerged from a desire to challenge the limitations placed on black women in sports. Tina Sloan Green, Dr. Alpha Alexander, Dr. Nikki Franke, and Linda Greene, Esq. recognized the lack of representation and role models in athletics. They united at Temple University to create a foundation that would not only promote participation in sports but also enhance academic success and life skills through competitive play.
