Our Story

Black Wall Street Asheville began in 2020 as a grassroots initiative aimed at addressing economic disparities faced by local Black businesses. With support from the NC IDEA Foundation, GRIND, LLC launched a program that initially aimed to enroll 20 Black businesses, but the response was overwhelming. A total of 74 businesses participated, generating over $1 million in revenue and creating 22 jobs. In 2021, Black Wall Street was officially incorporated as a 501c3 organization, continuing its mission to bridge economic gaps and empower people of color in business.

Impact

Every purchase made through Black Wall Street AVL contributes to recovery efforts, rebuilding local businesses, and restoring hope for families affected by economic challenges. A portion of the proceeds is reinvested back into the community, ensuring collective resilience and growth.
