BSCU

Our Story

In the spring of 2016, a think tank of four visionary leaders came together to create the Black Students of California United (BSCU). With insights from students across the Central Valley, the organization was launched in August 2016, establishing a mission to empower Black youth through education and leadership. Starting with 24 member High School Black Student Union (BSU) groups, BSCU has expanded its reach to include Middle Schools, fostering the development of affinity groups that support Black students.

Impact

The BSCU is dedicated to the cultural education and empowerment of Black youth in California. Through culturally relevant experiences and leadership opportunities, the organization cultivates future leaders who excel academically and engage actively in their communities.
