Empowering Future Generations

The Black Student Fund (BSF) was founded in 1964, inspired by the call for equality during Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s March on Washington. With a mission to address the stark educational disparities faced by Black students, BSF has dedicated itself to expanding access to quality education in the Washington, D.C. area. Over the years, the organization has provided millions in tuition scholarships, fostering a more diverse and equitable educational landscape.

Making a Lasting Impact

In 2022 alone, BSF reached over 5,000 students across 90 schools, enhancing K-12 educational experiences through innovative programs and financial support. The organization has played a pivotal role in increasing racial diversity in independent schools, advocating tirelessly for equal access to education.
