Our Story

The Black Poster Project was founded by Dee Gillen in memory of her son, Scott, who tragically lost his life to an overdose. What began as a small initiative with 50 awareness posters in 2019 has blossomed into a powerful movement, featuring nearly 800 posters that honor the memories of those lost to addiction.

Impact

This project aims to change the stigma surrounding addiction while providing essential resources for those in recovery. Through the Silent Memorials traveling exhibit, the project reaches communities, fostering understanding and compassion.
