Our Story

The Black Political Empowerment Project (B-PEP) was established on May 21, 1986, to ensure that the African-American community in Pittsburgh actively participates in every election. This initiative arose from the need for representation in the City Council during the mid-80s.

Impact

B-PEP has effectively mobilized the African-American community, advocating for their political needs and ensuring their voices resonate in the political landscape. Initiatives like the Greater Pittsburgh Coalition Against Violence exemplify B-PEP's commitment to community safety and empowerment.
