Founded in 2019, Black Girls Skate is dedicated to creating equity, visibility, and safety for skaters who identify as Black, African, or of Color, as well as women, differently-abled individuals, and LGBTQ+ skaters. By amplifying voices across the Black diaspora, BGS offers a variety of skating activities, including skateboarding, longboarding, roller skating, and adaptive skating. Everyone is welcome to join our events, and all wheels are embraced!
The mission is to raise skater visibility and enhance safety practices while providing positive, safe spaces for skaters of all levels. BGS is committed to building equity for historically marginalized groups within skate culture.
