Our Story

Founded by Sheila Ellis-Glasper, the Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills Association (BEFH) emerged from a personal journey of overcoming barriers to access funding for minority businesses. After years of navigating the entrepreneurial landscape, Sheila recognized a critical gap in support for Black entrepreneurs in Kansas. This realization sparked the creation of BEFH, a transformative initiative dedicated to addressing the capital accessibility challenges faced by Black business owners.

Our Impact

BEFH proudly supports over 100 businesses across Riley, Geary, and Pottawatomie counties, empowering Black, socially, and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs with essential resources. Together, these efforts foster community growth and resilience.
