Our Story

The Black Educators Committee, Inc. was founded in 1968 by dedicated educators in Freeport, New York, during a time of racial violence and societal turbulence. This organization aims to ensure educational opportunities for scholars pursuing higher education. With a commitment to community roots, it unites members from diverse backgrounds to strengthen the relationship between educators and the community while providing scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
