Our Story
Founded on October 16th, 2010, the Bisexual Queer Alliance Chicago (BQAC) emerged from a vision by Brother Michael Oboza and Ed Negron to create a supportive community for bisexual and queer individuals. Achieving 501(c)(3) status in 2014, BQAC has since played a pivotal role in addressing bi+ disparities, contributing to the MAP’s Invisible Majority Report in 2016 alongside other notable organizations. In 2019, a strategic retreat allowed the board to enhance outreach and efficiency, culminating in a documentary celebrating a decade of impact during our 10th anniversary gala in 2020. Today, BQAC continues to educate, empower, and provide essential resources through various programs and partnerships.
