Our Story

Birth Companions Community Center began as a small nonprofit with three Latinx doulas dedicated to serving the diverse communities of Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Colombia, and Nicaragua. Today, the organization has grown to over 50 doulas, all committed to supporting human life and providing culturally relevant care. By training doulas from the communities they serve, Birth Companions ensures that mothers receive the solidarity and understanding they need during life-changing circumstances.

Our Impact

Providing no-cost doula services, parent education, material donations, and food distribution, Birth Companions is changing the system for low-income and immigrant families. The organization empowers families with the knowledge and resources necessary for a healthy pregnancy and postpartum experience.
