Our Story
The Birmingham Jewish Federation was established in 1970, evolving from the United Jewish Fund created in response to the threats posed by Hitler’s Germany in the 1930s. With roots dating back to the arrival of the first Jewish families in Birmingham in 1873, the Federation has grown to encompass social welfare, community relations, and fundraising efforts.
