birdSEED Inc is dedicated to closing the racial wealth gap by supporting historically disadvantaged communities in achieving homeownership. Founded in response to the urgent need for housing justice, birdSEED provides "no strings attached" down payment assistance for first-time BIPOC homebuyers. This initiative emerged from a commitment of $215,000 from Flock DC and a collaboration with the Greater Washington Community Foundation, aiming to dismantle the barriers that have historically excluded BIPOC individuals from homeownership.

Impacting Communities

Since its inception, birdSEED has made significant strides in promoting equity in housing. By delivering rapid philanthropy, resources are made available to homebuyers on the day they close on their homes, fostering wealth and stability one home at a time. In 2022, birdSEED expanded its reach to Philadelphia, furthering its mission to empower BIPOC communities.
