Our Story

The Billie Holiday Theatre is a beacon of Black artistry, established in 1981 amidst the Civil Rights and Black Arts Movements. This historic theater has dedicated itself to amplifying the voices of Black artists and presenting authentic narratives of the African diaspora. With a 22-year education program led by Black artists, it challenges systemic barriers to access in the arts.
