The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign was established in 2006 to create a cooperative space for bike repair, knowledge sharing, and advocacy. With a partnership with the University of Illinois, the Campus Bicycle Center was launched in 2010, enhancing community access to cycling resources.
TBP has given away around 70 bikes during the holiday season and operates two community bike shops, providing essential tools and knowledge for bike repair, significantly contributing to the local cycling community.
