About Bike Miami Valley

Bike Miami Valley has a rich history dating back to the early 1960s, rooted in the vision of Horace Huffman Jr., co-founder of the Dayton Cycling Club. This nonprofit organization emerged from the Miami Valley Regional Bicycle Council, which drafted one of the nation’s first regional bikeway plans in 1973. Since its incorporation in 1979, Bike Miami Valley has been at the forefront of cycling advocacy, promoting safe cycling practices and developing cycling infrastructure in the Miami Valley region.

Impact on the Community

Recognized as a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists, Bike Miami Valley has successfully launched southwest Ohio’s first bike share program, Link, in May of 2015. The organization has played a crucial role in enhancing the region’s recreational trail system, making cycling more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
