About BREADA
BREADA, the Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance, is dedicated to enhancing economic opportunities for small farmers while fostering a healthy local food system in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Established in 1996, BREADA connects local farmers and vendors from 14 parishes across South Louisiana with the community, ensuring access to fresh, local food.
Impact
Each year, BREADA positively impacts 1.2 million people, providing fresh food access to 61,000 residents in low-access communities and serving 2,447 children through its Red Stick Sports kids club. The organization supports 55 farmers, fishers, and chefs, safeguarding their livelihoods through local markets.
