Our Story

Founded in 2014, Big River Animal Society was inspired by a visit to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. This experience ignited a passion to combat animal homelessness and senseless killings by creating a safe, compassionate haven for animals in need. Located in northwest Mississippi, the organization focuses on rescuing animals from kill shelters, addressing the dangers of dog fighting, puppy mills, and abuse prevalent in the region.
