About Big Heart OTTB Foundation

Founded by Vadim Vysotskiy and Yelena, Big Heart OTTB Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in a serene rural area. With a deep-rooted love for animals, the foundation was established to address the alarming reality of horse abuse in the United States. The founders, who have always been passionate about animal welfare, decided to create a sanctuary for off-track thoroughbreds (OTTBs) who have faced neglect and abuse.

Our Mission

The mission of Big Heart OTTB Foundation is to rehabilitate and rehome off-track thoroughbreds, providing them with a safe haven and the care they deserve. Since our inception in March 2021, we have taken in seven horses, three of whom are enjoying their retirement in our sanctuary, while four young OTTBs are undergoing rehabilitation to prepare them for loving homes.
