Our Story

Family Promise of the Big Bend, formerly known as the Big Bend Homeless Coalition, has been a beacon of hope since 1986. As an affiliate of the national Family Promise organization, it addresses family homelessness through a comprehensive approach that includes emergency shelter, workforce development, and health services. Located in the heart of the Big Bend region, this nonprofit is dedicated to transforming lives and communities.

Impact

In 2023, Family Promise of the Big Bend made a significant impact by providing emergency shelter to 545 family members and securing permanent housing for 119 formerly chronically homeless individuals. An impressive 92% of these families maintained stable housing for over 12 months. Additionally, 331 children received educational support, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
