The Big Apple Softball League was founded in 1977 to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals to participate in softball. Starting with just twelve teams, it has grown to over 30 teams and 600 members, fostering community and diversity in sports.
For over 40 years, BASL has provided a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals, significantly enhancing community diversity and inclusivity through sports.
