Our Story

The Bialystok Cemetery Restoration Fund was founded in 2015 by Amy and Josh Degen, driven by a personal mission to restore headstones in Bagnowka Cemetery. This cemetery, a significant historical site, was largely desecrated after World War II during Communist occupation. It serves as the final resting place for many members of the once-thriving Jewish community in northeastern Poland.

Impact

Through dedicated efforts, the Bialystok Cemetery Restoration Fund has mobilized volunteers and supporters to restore the cemetery, honoring the memory of the Jewish community and addressing the historical injustices faced by their families.
