Founded in 2011 as a project of the National LGBTQ Task Force, Beyond These Walls began by sending holiday cards to LGBTQ prisoners. This initiative blossomed into a vital community resource, responding to heartfelt letters from incarcerated individuals seeking support and connection.
Beyond These Walls has provided essential LGBTQIA+ training to Washington Department of Corrections Reentry teams, direct cash support to 45 currently and formerly incarcerated individuals, and distributed 32 care packages, alongside $14,000 in reentry assistance.
