Our Story
Founded in 1995 by dedicated social workers, Beyond Emancipation began as the Independent Living Skills Program Auxiliary, aiming to provide essential services to emancipated youth. Over the years, the organization has evolved, officially adopting its current name in 2006, and now offers a comprehensive range of support including transitional housing, education assistance, and employment resources.
Impact
Each year, Beyond Emancipation serves over 500 current and former foster youth in Alameda County, helping them transition into adulthood while reducing risks of homelessness, substance abuse, and incarceration.
