Beyond Differences

Our Story

Beyond Differences was founded by Laura Talmus and Ace Smith in memory of their daughter, Lili Rachel Smith, who faced social isolation due to Apert Syndrome. Established in 2010, the organization inspires students across the nation to create cultures of belonging, ensuring that middle school is a positive experience for all.

Impact

With a reach of over 4.5 million students in 9,000 schools across all 50 states, Beyond Differences has significantly raised awareness of social isolation. Notably, 88% of student leaders and 87% of administrators reported increased awareness after implementing our programs.
