Our Story

Growing up surrounded by animals, the bond formed with pets has always been a source of comfort and joy. From the loyal companionship of dogs to the soothing presence of cats, these furry friends have a unique way of healing and uplifting spirits. The journey into rescue work began with Arwen, a Heinz 57 mega-mutt rescued from a dire situation in Georgia. Facing euthanasia due to overcrowding, Arwen's rescue opened the door to a passion for saving animals in need.

After volunteering at a public shelter and gaining experience with challenging cases, the realization struck that many shelters in California were struggling to provide the same level of care. With a growing stray population and limited resources, the need for support became evident. This inspired the formation of Better World Rescue, a dedicated team committed to changing the lives of animals in San Joaquin County.

Better World Rescue is devoted to helping beloved pets remain in their homes while also facilitating the adoption of shelter animals into loving families. The organization focuses on providing essential resources and support to ensure every animal has a chance at a happy life.
