Our Story

Better Together Strengthening Families Inc began its impactful journey in 2015, led by Megan Rose, who transformed a Chicago-based nonprofit model to serve the Southwest Florida community. With a decade of experience in the Florida child welfare system, Megan recognized the urgent need to prevent child abuse and neglect by offering alternatives to foster care. By shifting from a state-funded approach to a 100% privately funded model, Better Together inspired unprecedented levels of volunteerism and assured families that seeking help would not result in losing their children.

Our Impact

Since its inception, Better Together has positively impacted over 10,000 children and connected more than 38,000 job seekers to employment opportunities across 24 states and Washington, DC. With a remarkable 98% success rate in keeping families together, the organization provides temporary homes and essential support to families in crisis, effectively preventing the need for foster care.
